Go to Start, Control Panel and Sound to see if you might have muted the PC somehow.



Not to make you sound stupid either, but check to make sure your sound system is plugged into the PC if you have external speakers and that they are on and volume up.



If you do have a base speaker, look on that to see if you have the sound cranked down for some reason. Hope this helps.

theres a large combination of things that could be causing this problem:



make sure your speakers are plugged in, connected properly and turned on



open you sound card menu, or volume properties and make sure the "wave" sound level is around 85-90%, that mute is off and that the actual volume is at the desirable level. i've had the same problem when i got a new sound card that i was slowly figuring out how to use, i finaly found out that the "wave" level was turned all the way down. good luck!!!
